Toezicht met Gezag at ENPA Inaugural Conference 2026

Dr. Lauren Fahy participated in the inaugural conference of the European Network for Public Administration (ENPA), which brought together public administration scholars from across Europe to discuss new developments in research and practice. During the conference, Dr. Fahy contributed to the panel “Public Sector Organizations” and presented ongoing research conducted within the Toezicht met Gezag project.

The presentation focused on a study examining how regulator reputation influences compliance among regulated organizations. Building on earlier survey-experimental research, the project explores the mechanisms through which different dimensions of regulatory reputation shape compliance behaviour. The current phase of the research uses focus groups with both inspectorate employees and regulated organizations in the Dutch hospitality sector to better understand how reputation affects attitudes toward workplace health and safety regulation.
