Symposium: Regulation, innovation and regulatory innovation in rapidly changing markets
On 8 June, Dr Lauren A. Fahy joined a panel of experts at a symposium on the regulation of emerging technologies and the role of independent agencies. The symposium brought together researchers from public administration, economics, history, and law, regulatory practitioners. Dr Fahy drew on a case study of the UK financial conduct regulator’s governance of emerging technologies. She presented results from interviews and surveys with innovating companies, and reflected on the role of mandate, authority, and reputation in regulatory success.
