Conference: Biennial Conference of the Standing Group on Regulatory Governance
From 12-14 July, members of the ‘Toezicht met Gezag’ research team took part in the Biennial Conference of the Standing Group on Regulatory Governance. The conference is the leading interdisciplinary gathering on regulation and regulatory governance in Europe, attracting researchers from all over the globe. The research team gave several presentations on their research. This included Dr Lauren A. Fahy presenting a study on how regulatory agencies gain their reputation, Dr. Fahy and Prof. dr. Judith van Erp presenting a design for a survey experiment on the links between reputation and authority, PhD-candidate Rick Stegeman presenting a design for a content analysis on how audiences of several Dutch regulators judge the moral dimension of their reputation, PhD-candidate Emma Ropes presenting the results of an interview study on the role of emotions in citizen-regulator encounters and PhD-candidate Julia Wesdorp presenting her theoretical study on the role of surrogate inspectorates in regulatory governance.
